13 Two Crosses, Two Choices - He Chose the Nails (Pieces of Passion Series) (MP3)Some of the best questions are the simplest. And the question of this lesson is so simple we might forget to ask it. Why were there two crosses on either side of Jesus? Why not one or three or six or ten? Why, in God’s plan, were two names on the execution docket that Friday? We know very little about these criminals – not the nature of their crimes, not their names, not even whether or not they ever heard of Jesus. But we do know this: there were two men on either side of Jesus. These two men each had two choices and their choices were different. One chose to mock him; one chose to follow him. And we know there were two outcomes. One was taken to heaven and the other was not. God gives eternal choices and eternal choices have consequences. 1. The Picture of Choice. Luke 23:39-43 2. The Privilege of Choice. Matthew 25:46
Two facts about eternal choice: One good choice for eternity offsets a thousand bad choices on earth. One bad choice for eternity offsets a thousand good ones on earth.
