07 God's Greatest Sign - He Chose the Nails (Pieces of Passion Series) (MP3)Long before I married, I knew the importance of reading the signs of your spouse. Wise is the man who learns the non-verbal language of his wife; who notes the nod and discerns the gestures. You’ve got to read the signs. But one weekend early in our marriage, I missed the signs. I missed them big. After an entire of evening of obvious – to anyone but me – nonverbal signs, Denalyn announced, “I’m going to bed. I’m very upset. Tomorrow morning I will tell you why.” Sometimes we miss the signs. God knows that. Maybe that’s why he’s given us so many. The tree in the Garden of Eden is a sign of our choice. The rainbow after the flood is a sign of God’s covenant and circumcision was a sign of God’s chosen. Even today we see signs in the New Testament church. Communion is a sign of his death and baptism is a sign of our birth. The most poignant signs, however, are a cradle and a cross. John 19:19-22 1. There is no language he won’t speak. Romans 10:12 2. There is no person he will not use. Luke 23:42 Date preached: October 24, 1999
