The church in Thessalonica was full of contrast. They had been quiet and holy, yet after awhile they became restless and impatient. They needed direction on how to live.
Paul wrote the young church two letters. The first commended the believers for thier faith and encouraged them to continue to live a life exhibiting gospel principles. The second letter was full of helpful hints that corrected wrong beliefs, wrong assumptions, and wrong behaviors.
Both of Paul's letters urged the believers to live responsibly. Whether we are living a quiet and holy life or one that leaves us restless and impatient, Paul's letters encourage us. They challenge us to remain faithful in a temporary world.
