Any person who has tackled the task of presenting the Bible to people will find a friend in Ezra. He was a student. He was an interpreter. In fact, the clearest Old Testament reference to exposition is attributed to Ezra. He was the head of the Levites who "read from the Book of the Teachings of God and explained what it meant so the people understood what was being read" (Nehemiah 8:8).

Don't you appreciate that last phrase, "and explained what it meant so the people understood..."? Don't you appreciate the person who can take the Word and reveal it for your life?
