11 When You're Out of Gas - Every Day Deserves a Chance (MP3)Women see the empty gas tank as an inconvenience. Men see it as the ultimate failure. Our first set of keys were given to us with these words, "Make sure you buy some gas." From that moment on, the standard was set. Take care of your machine. All other measures of manhood pale in comparison. It matters not if you can transplant a heart or win the pentathlon. If you can't keep gas in your tank, you are of most men to be pitied. What do you do when you need fuel but have only fumes? Stare at the gauge? Blame your upbringing? Deny the problem? No. Pity won't start the car. Complaints don't fuel an engine. Remorse doesn't bump the needle. In the case of an empty tank, we've learned: don't focus on the problem, focus on the solution. In the case of a broken heart, a lonely life, or a troubled marriage; the choice isn't so easy. John 6:1-15 1. Don't calculate without Christ. 1 Peter 5:7 2. Count on Christ to help you. Ephesians 3:20 Date preached: May 28, 2006
