“Whoever” is God’s wonderful word of welcome. However. Whenever. Wherever. His “whoever” includes you…forever.

“Whoever” unfurls 3:16 as the banner of the ages. It unrolls the welcome mat to heaven’s gate. Someone finds the verse and reads the words. He might dismiss it as an ancient myth, or he might embrace it as a genuine hope. One word invites him to do so. The word invites the world to God. Whatever century, whatever country. Jesus could have narrowed the scope. “Whatever Jew believes” or “Whatever woman follows me.” But he uses no qualifier. Whoever is wonderfully indefinite. Who isn’t a “whoever?”
